Employee goal-setting and review system on Bitrix24

Client: NDA Category: CRM / Bitrix24 Stack: Bitrix24 (iblocks, IM, email templates), PHP, D7 Timeline: 4–6 weeks
Problem

The company needed a goal-setting and performance review system with multi-step approval and a final rating, without buying a separate HR module. A second version of the module grew in parallel with the first, and requests started "getting lost" between them.

Constraints

Only stock Bitrix24 tools (iblocks, IM, email) with no external services, a closed role model layered on the department structure, and no change could risk the data already collected.

What I did
  • Designed an "employee goal" entity on iblocks with a ~10-status lifecycle: draft → manager approval → curator approval → sign-off → self-review → final review → rating
  • A role model: an admin sets quarters and competencies, the employee fills out the form, the manager and curator approve or send it back for revision
  • Notifications at every approval step via Bitrix IM and email templates
  • An audit of the second, parallel module version — found the cause of requests drifting out of sync between versions
  • Found and documented specific bugs in status transitions, prepared a refactoring plan
Architecture

Result

The company got a full goal-setting and review cycle without buying a separate HR module, and the audit produced an exact list of reasons requests were "getting lost" between the two versions, plus a stabilization plan.
